BBC 2008 年底播出了最新版本的《三十九级台阶》，故事是名著改编，主演是英俊小生、刚刚离开BBC的 Spooks 系列的 Rupert Penry-Jones，但是整部片子却拍得十分平淡，在悬疑设计上颇有偷工减料之感，连男主角也显得心不在焉，总体来说，比不上《三十九级台阶》的其它改编版本。
